Discontinuation of RefWorks

As of April 30th, AST Library will no longer provide access to RefWorks due to poor usage and rising cost. Other libraries within the Novanet consortium have or will be discontinuing access to RefWorks.

We recommend that before the end of April 2015, you consider transferring your data to a free open access bibliographic management program such as Zotero or purchase a personal license to a paid program such as EndNote.

If you have any questions please contact Robert Martel rmartel@astheology.ns.ca  or Amy Lorencz alorencz@astheology.ns.ca

Features Added to Learning Commons Computers

You will notice some changes to our public computers! We have added another internet browser - Chrome! There are also some additional tools to help you in your research. Firefox now has an extension for ePub format books. This extension will open the book for you within the browser like it would in an eReader! Test it out with Project Gutenberg by selecting a book in ePub format. Both Chrome and Firefox have Clearly, an Evernote extension that removes the formatting on webpages with a click of a mouse into a more legible page that is also printer friendly. What other extensions assist you in your research?

Geez - A Topical Canadian Magazine

Canadian magazine Geez contains a variety of stories related to the Church, Christianity, and current events. I could see some of these subjects being covered in future grad presentations. Check it out, it is bound to be a conversation starter!
